The Travis Manion Foundation Mid-Atlantic Region partnered with the Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas organization to sponsor a Back to School Bash at the America Pratt House Apartments. Grace Shike, Senior Coordinator, Mid-Atlantic Region Travis Manion Foundation and her team member Katherine invited MD Chapter Gold Star mothers to join their team of Character Does Matter (CDM) mentors to serve at the event. The following moms represented the chapter: Khadidja Keita, Basmattie Bishundat, Janice Chance, Donna Robinson, Sarah Keita, Gold Star sibling and Veteran James Hilton. The moms helped by serving food & snow cones, playing games and distributing backpacks to the children. Hilary Christian did face painting and there was also a teen DJ playing music that added additional excitement. There was much laughter and smiles. Several children shared that they were having a lot of fun.
