Maryland Gold Star Mothers Theresa Karlson, Stephanie White, Penny Flecker, and Gold Star Father, Manny Flecker attended the 2nd Annual High School Military Enlistee Recognition Ceremony at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, Maryland on April 21, 2026. This event was sponsored by Our Community Salutes (OCS) Organization of Central Maryland. After their 2026 high school graduation, 77 students will enlist in the United States Army, the United States Navy, and the United States Marine Corps. Music was provided by the United States Army Field Band. Mr. J. Jolissaint was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Guest speakers included Major General Kelly Dickerson, Commanding General 84th Training Command, Fort Knox, KY, Command Sergeant Major Michele Jones (UAS, Ret), and Howard County Executive, Dr. Calvin Ball III.
