On Saturday October 29th Mothers from the Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter met at American Legion Post 60 to assemble care packages for a unit of 80 Marines that are deployed to Iraq. Gustavo Hernandez, one of the Marines in the unit, was a friend and fellow Marine of Gina Barnhurst’s son Eric. We sent five boxes full of toiletries and snacks along with a letter thanking them for their service. The following Mothers from our Maryland Chapter helped to assemble the packages: Janice Chance, Paula Davis, Gina Barnhurst, Stephanie White, Donna Robinson, Elsheba Khan and Mary O King.
We were so grateful to be joined by the following members and auxiliary members of Post 60 who assisted us in assembling the care packages. Post 60 members; Linda Bell, Thomas Bell, Deborah Goldberg, Sherry Mills and grandchildren Christopher, Lilly, Jordan and Gavin Gallagher and auxiliary members: Tina Newman, Evelina Krosel and Diane Corwin.
