On Saturday September 16th Maryland Gold Star Mothers were honored to support and attend the Fisher House Gala hosted by The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Major General Harry Greene, Aberdeen Chapter. This annual Gala raises funds for Fisher House Foundation and scholarships. The theme of this year’s Gala was Tailgate, and featured sports themed activities, gourmet tailgating, and music at the beautiful Water’s Edge Event Center in Belcamp, MD. In attendance and representing Maryland Gold Star Mothers were Yvonne Green, Stephanie White, Joy Goode, Synthia Carter, and Lauren Seidler along with their guests. We were honored to be seated with speaker Marshall D. Banks, Director of Community Relations, Fisher House Foundation Inc. One of the highlights of the evening was the Gift Basket Auction. Lauren Seidler created two themed Gift Baskets donated by Maryland Gold Star Mothers which were featured in the auction. Supporting organizations like Fisher House Foundation is a part of Maryland Gold Star Mothers mission to keep the memory of our sons and daughters alive by working to help Veterans, those currently serving in the military, their families, and our community.
