On Thursday, November 2, 2023, HUD sponsored The Annual Veterans Day Program to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War at their Headquarters in Washington, DC. The program theme was “Why we serve, Then and Now, Shaping Our Service From Military to Public Service”. Gold Star Wives along with Gold Star Mothers, Paula Davis, Stephanie White, and Basmattie Bishundat were in attendance. The presentation of colors was presented by The Military District of Washington Joint Forces Color Guard, and a Tribute to Our Veterans, was played by The United States Navy Band Brass Quintet, Military District of Washington. The keynote Speaker was Dr. Joseph B. Anderson, United States Army Veteran, CEO of The Anderson Group, LLC. The Gold Star Mothers and Wives participated in the Memorial Wreath Ceremony. Taps was played by Eric Larson, Bugles Across America. We look forward to attending this ceremony each year.
