The VFW Department of Maryland & Auxiliary held their Annual Memorial Service on May 31, 2022. Maryland Chapter Moms were once again invited to participate in their ceremony by the VFW officers.  Donna Robinson, Janice Chance and spouse Charlton Chance represented the MD Chapter.  They were given the honor to lay a yellow flower in memory of their fallen hero.  Following the ceremony, they were treated to a special dinner hosted by the State Commander and officers.

On Wednesday morning, June 1st, the Moms and Dad attended the VFW Opening Ceremony. During the ceremony, Ms. Cheri Brown, Department Auxiliary President and Mr. James Wade, Sr., State Commander presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to the Maryland Chapter. Janice and Donna were elated by the large amount of the gift.  Janice expressed heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Maryland Chapter and briefly explained who Gold Star mothers are, the mission of the organization and gave several examples of ways that the MD Chapter are “HONORING THROUGH SERVICE” by supporting Veterans, those currently serving, their families and the community.
