Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake Joint Gold Star Maryland Chapter and Blue Star Families Organizations Build Baltimore, Maryland April 30, 2025

Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter members were invited to partner with the Blue Star Families organization for a special Habitat for Humanity home build.   Mrs. Yolanda Rayford, Executive Director Baltimore/ Chesapeake Region Blue Star Families coordinated the project.  Janice Chance and Joyce Goode represented the Maryland Chapter.  They volunteered alongside four active-duty service members from the Fort George G. Meade military base and the Habitat for Humanity staff.

The volunteers completed tasks required to prepare the home for the appraiser’s walk through. The Maryland Chapter provided box lunches from the Heavenly Ham restaurant.  The moms were able to share about the Maryland Chapter and their fallen Heroes as they volunteered and during lunch.  The volunteers also had the pleasure of meeting one of the individuals that will be the recipient of one of the Habitat homes that the volunteers worked on. The Habitat staff expressed their appreciation to the volunteers for serving and they were gifted with a Habitat T Shirt.  It was a wonderful day of service.
