Mrs. Kenya Griffin, Program Manager, Public Relations & Community Outreach
Acting Program Manager, invited VA volunteers from the VA Medical Health Care System to serve at the PACT ACT Veterans Claims Clinic and VA Health Care Information Fair. The event was sponsored by the Chesapeake Veterans Alliance (CVA) and the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs in partnership with the Howard County Commission for Veterans and Military Families.
Rodney Morris U. S Army Veteran and Janice Chance were provided with the opportunity to volunteer. Janice and Rodney serve as regularly scheduled volunteers at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Janice also serves as the Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service Representative (VAVS) for the Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter. She was assigned to serve as a greeter and an escort. Rodney served as a greeter in the service area and directed the veterans to the appropriate areas. Many veterans expressed their gratitude for being able to talk with someone in person about their claims and /or receiving other resource information and assistance. The event was well attended.
