St. Patrick’s Day Parade Annapolis, Maryland March 17, 2024

On Sunday March 17, 2024, Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter participated in the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Annapolis, Maryland. The Warrior Events’ Leadership team, including John O’ Leary, Bob Saunders, and Paige Havens, did an outstanding job as usual coordinating the Warrior Events float and volunteers sponsored by Fence and Deck Connection, Inc. Gold Star Moms Theresa Karlson, Paula Davis, Janice Chance, Donna Robinson, Joy Goode and Gold Star Dad Greg Goode had a great time as they were amazed at all the floats, attendees and observers. One of the Warrior Events floats included big wooden letters that spelled out HERO that included several Maryland fallen heroes’ pictures, which were affixed to the letters. The other float had two shadow figures of a military figure saluting and the battle cross statue that honor all our military and fallen heroes with the saying “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave”. The Fence and Deck Connection float had a huge duck on it with the saying “Deck, Deck, Goose”! The course started at Amos Garrett Blvd and ended at Annapolis City Docks. The crowd erupted in applause as a group of young men dressed in fatigues portrayed the iconic USMC Iwo Jima statue while holding the American flag. The weather was beautiful, and we were very fortunate to meet some wonderful people. A few days before the parade, Paula Davis assisted in assembling the float. We look forward to supporting Warrior Events in the near future.
