The Maryland Chapter moms seized the opportunity to visit hospitalized veterans at all three VA Medical Centers during their annual National Salute to Veterans week. Although the moms honor the veterans all year long, they decided to participate in this event to continue to demonstrate their appreciation to our heroes in a variety of ways. The moms made their first visit to the veterans at the Loch Raven Medical Center on February 13, 2023. The second visit was made on February 17, 2023 to hospitalized veterans at the Perry Point Medical Center. Synthia Carter and Janice Chance represented the MD Chapter. During their visit several of the veterans recognized Synthia and Janice from previous visits. They shared how happy they were to see them again. They also shared that they are looking forward to them returning to participate in other activities. Synthia and Janice distributed the gifts and rendered the MD Chapter’s special “Moms Salute”. The veterans smiled as they expressed their thanks and also rendered their official Military Hand Salute. The veterans were gifted with a Valentine’s Day stuffed bear, a colorful stress ball, an adult coloring book, colored pencils and a Valentine’s Day Card written by students at the Visitation Preparation school. They wished the veterans a Happy Valentine’s Day and thanked them for their service. The veterans shared that they loved all of the gifts and the card. The moms are looking forward to their next visit. They are committed to serving and supporting our heroes. #honorthroughservice
