National Salute to Veterans Week Baltimore VA Medical Health Care Center Baltimore, Maryland February 13, 2024

National Salute to Veterans Week Baltimore VA Medical Health Care Center Baltimore, Maryland February 13, 2024 Maryland Gold Star Mothers, Paula Davis, Theresa Karlson, Janice Chance, Sandra Johnson, and Khadidja Keita were able to visit our Veteran patients for the National Salute to Veterans week at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The Moms were guided and escorted by US Army Veteran, Edwin Jarvis to assist with the distribution of gifts to hospitalized veterans at the Greene Street location. Many thanks to US Air Force Veteran David Selvinsky, Voluntary Specialist for the Baltimore VA Medical Center for coordinating our visit. During the visit, the Gold Star Moms distributed gift bags, filled with items such as a Valentines teddy bear, miniature balloon heart, toiletry items, including toothbrush, mouthwash and tooth paste as well as a pen, notebook and puzzle books. During the visit, our heroes were thanked for their selfless service and sacrifice to our country. The Moms also rendered to some of the heroes what they lovingly refer to as their “Gold Star Mothers Hand Salute” which resulted in smiles, as they also responded by rendering a hand salute. As we presented the items to each veteran, we had the opportunity to talk to them and thank them for their service. They all thanked us and from the smiles all around, we could tell they truly appreciated our visit. The Moms were honored to have the opportunity to salute the Veterans. As one patient described us, “You all look like angels that have been sent from Heaven.” We look forward to visiting our Heroes at the Perry Point and Loch Raven VA Centers later this week. #honorthroughservice
