Pact Act Veterans Claims Clinic & VA Health Care Enrollment Fair Stevensville, MD April 8, 2026

Mrs. Kenya Griffin, Acting Chief, Public & Community Relations VA Medical Health Care System

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs invited VA volunteers from the VA Medical Health Care System to serve at the Veterans Benefit Fair that was held at the American legion Post 278. The event was sponsored by the Chesapeake Veterans Alliance-which includes the Maryland Department of Veterans & Military Families, the VA Maryland Health Care System, and the Baltimore Regional Office of the Veterans Benefits Administration—in partnership with the Queen Anne’s County Veteran and Military Spouse Alliance and the Kent Island American Legion Post 278.  Rodney Morris U. S Army Veteran and Janice Chance seized the opportunity to volunteer.  Janice and Rodney serve as regularly scheduled volunteers at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Janice also serves as the Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service Representative (VAVS) for the Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter.   She was assigned to serve as a greeter and to assist with checking in veterans for their scheduled claims appointments. Rodney also served as a greeter and directed the veterans to the appropriate areas.

Edward Rothstein, Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret.), Acting Secretary of Maryland Veterans attended the event and spent a significant amount of time talking with the veterans. Many of the veterans expressed their gratitude for being able to talk with the representatives live and to obtain a variety of resource information. The event was well attended. For more information about the PACT ACT, please visit https://www.va.gov/resources/the-pact-act-and-your-va-benefits/
