The Operation Gratitude organization (OG) leaders once again invited Gold Star Maryland Chapter moms to participate in their Care Package Assembly Day event for deployed service members. MD Chapter moms Janice Chance, Donna Robinson and Janice’s daughter Gold Star sibling Jenine Melton, an Iraq veteran, served as volunteers. As a matter of fact, Jenine was blessed to receive a care package from OG when she was deployed. Therefore, Jenine is always grateful to have the opportunity to assemble care packages to pay it forward. Donna, Janice and Jenine served alongside members from several organizations: Blue Star families, the Young Marines, PNO AKA Chapter members and other individuals. There were two sessions. Donna and Janice served for three hours during the afternoon session. Thanks to all of the dedicated volunteers, the OG goal to assemble 5000 care packages was met. OG CEO/ President Major General James Johnson (Ret) U.S Airforce and other staff expressed their thanks to the volunteers. The staff leaders also worked tirelessly throughout the event. Donna and Janice are always grateful for the opportunity to carry on the legacy of their fallen hero by “HONORING THROUGH SERVICE”.
