Maryland Patriot Guard BBQ Event U.S. Vets Organization Transitional Housing Facility SE Washington, DC May 21, 2022

Maryland Patriot Guard (MDPG) leaders Ann and Ted Nettles provided another opportunity for Maryland Gold Star Chapter Mothers to “Honor Through Service” at their first Big BBQ event that was held at the U.S. Vets Organization Transitional Housing Facility. Maryland Gold Star moms Khadija Keita, Janice Chance, Gloria Crothers and Donna Robinson joined the MDPG Dedicated Team to serve some of our country’s veteran heroes.  Although, it was a hot day, the weather did not hinder the team’s service nor the fellowship. Per Ann & Ted approximately 40-50 Veterans were served. The veterans and the staff members expressed their appreciation to all volunteers. Grill masters Greg, Billy and Mike did an exceptional job as usual preparing their special meats that included pit beef, chicken, spiral hotdogs and hamburgers.  Other delicious side dishes were also provided including cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, delicious desserts and plenty of cold water and sodas.    It was a wonderful event and we look forward to helping the MDPG organization in future events.
