American Legion Slate Ridge Post 182 Veterans Day Program Whiteford, Maryland November 14, 2022

The Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter members were invited to attend the American Legion Post 182 Veterans Day Program. Marie Moudry, Donna Robinson and Janice Chance represented the MD Chapter. The moms received a warm welcome from Commander Mr. Robert McFaden and the members of the post and the post auxiliary. During the program auxiliary members that also members of the Quilts of Valor organization presented Veteran Staff Sergeant Bradley Knaub US Army with one of their beautiful patriotic quilts. Members of the Sew for Vets shared about their special project and showed the beautiful wheelchair bags that they will be gifting to the veterans at the VA Perry Point Medical Center. Ms. Susan Kern, Voluntary Service Officer/Program Manager VA Maryland Health Care System thanked the members of the sewing club and also the post in general for their continued support and contributions to the veterans at Perry Point. The moms were given the opportunity to share about their Hero. Janice also provided information about the Gold Star Mothers organization. The moms thanked the veterans for their service in addition to their families and rendered a “Moms Hand Salute”. The post showed two heartwarming Veterans Day videos and then provided a buffet lunch. The moms enjoyed spending time with the veterans, other attendees and delicious food. Commander McFadden informed the moms that the MD Chapter members will be invited again next year.
