The Maryland Gold Star Mothers were invited to attend the 49th Annual Military Appreciation Event Luncheon which was held at Top of The Bay located at Aberdeen Proving Ground on May 19, 2026. The premier sponsor of the event was Freedom Federal Credit Union. Nancy Stuckey Merritt, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, Chosen Community Development Corporation and Ourisman Toyota 40 were the Gold Star Sponsors. Following a delicious lunch, all Active Duty and Veterans, along with the Gold Star Mothers and Spouses were recognized. The Harford County Executive, Robert Cassilly welcomed the Gold Star Families and discussed how Harford County and Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), work together for the people of the community as well as the military. Col. Troy S. Johnson, Aberdeen Proving Ground Garrison Commander, followed with remarks. Gold Star Moms, Theresa Karlson, Paula Davis, Janice Chance, Donna Robinson, Joy Goode, Rosemarie Ceo, Yvonne Green, and Stephanie White were among the Gold Star Families and guests attended the event.
