Maryland Gold Star Mothers Khadedja Keita and Gloria Grother volunteered at the Remembering Our Fallen National Tour. The exhibit honored all fallen heroes, including several children from our chapter, and was sponsored by the Hope and Peace Foundation and the Sgt. Michael Heedy, Jr. Memorial Fund.
Chuck Ritz, from the Hope and Peace Foundation, brought the 9/11 Rolling Memorial Bell and displayed America’s Living 9/11 Classroom. The event honored the victims of 9/11, including soldiers, firefighters, civilians, and the innocent children whose lives were lost.
Chuck shared that this may be the last time this special display will take place, as the owner is retiring. That made the day even more meaningful.
ROTC cadets from Elkton High School also volunteered, along with Gunny, Dave, and Bridget.
The Maryland Gold Star Mothers received a certificate recognizing their donation.
