M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County honored Prince George’s County senior veterans with a special luncheon celebration.
The Veterans Luncheon celebration began with a Presentation of Colors by Eleanor Roosevelt High School AFJROTC Color Guard, followed by the National Anthem sung by Renee Georges. Each Military branch was recognized by Bill Tyler, Director M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County. As the anthem for each military branch played, veterans rose to their feet to be recognized. Master of Ceremonies Anthony Nolan, Special Programs Division Chief, M-NCPPC led the Moment of Silence to recognize and reflect on the services and sacrifices of all Veterans, past and present. Guest speakers were Army Veteran, Enrique Young, Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies, and Maryland Gold Star Mother, Paula Davis. Gold Star Mothers Theresa Karson and Stephanie White also attended the event. More than 275 Veterans attended the event.
Veterans were treated to a delicious lunch. Music was performed by Renee Georges and the Georjazz Group. After lunch, Branch of Service Photos were taken, and closing remarks by Anthony Nolan. The Senior Veterans luncheon paid tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of our veterans. It served as a reminder that their service and commitment are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
