The Chesapeake Veterans Alliance (CVA) and the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs ( VA) held a PACT ACT Veterans Claims Clinic and VA Health Care Enrollment Fair at the Middle Branch Fitness & Wellness Center in Baltimore. Rodney Morris U.S. Army Veteran and Janice Chance, Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter member were invited to serve as volunteers.
Janice and Rodney also serve as regularly scheduled volunteers at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Janice also serves as the Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service Representative (VAVS) for the Gold Star Mothers Maryland Chapter. Janice served as a greeter, an escort and also assisted with checking in veterans. Rodney served as a greeter in the claims/resource information area and directed veterans to the appropriate areas. Many veterans expressed their gratitude for being able to talk with representatives in person about their claims, receiving other resource information and /or assistance. The event was well attended.
