Annual Maryland Marathon Bluegrass Jam Fisher House Foundation Fundraiser American Legion Post 276 Severn, Maryland October 22, 2022

Gold Star Mothers and family members were invited by Mr. Neil Hamrick, Fundraiser Chairman of the Annual Marathon Bluegrass Jam to volunteer again at their special event. The Maryland Marathon Jam committee invites local bands to participate in eight hours of non-stop bluegrass music.  The following moms represented the MD Chapter: Janice Chance, Donna Robinson, Mary O King, Khadijah Keita and her daughter Sarah.  The moms partnered with Amy Kriner who serves as the lead coordinator for Leidos employee volunteers.  Janice and Sarah assisted with the sale of mystery prize balloons and Donna, Khadijah and Mary assisted with the items that were on display outdoors. In addition to volunteering, the MD Chapter also donated $500. The moms also seized the opportunity to thank the veterans and their family who were in attendance.  It appeared that everyone enjoyed the food, fellowship and the great music that helped provide an atmosphere of excitement.  The Fisher House Foundation is best known for building comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital. The homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world. This charity was chosen because of their excellent rating and for the services and support that they provide to our heroes and their families.  The MD Chapter moms are looking forward to serving again next year.
