9th Annual Manhattans, Martinis & Mistletoe Veterans Awards Washington, DC December 10, 2025

The American Freedom Fund (AFF) invited Maryland Gold Star Mothers to their 9th Annual Gala at The Grand Ballroom of the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, DC. The AFF was founded in 2017 by three combat veterans- Lt. Don Bramer, USN (ret), MAJ Rob Miller, USMC (ret) and Petty Officer Gabe Stecker, USN (ret). They created this group so that they could seek ways to continue serving their brothers and sisters in arms after returning from active duty. Their vision was to create a community where Veterans could maintain the fellowship, purpose and support they experienced in uniform while transitioning into civilian life and new careers. Each year, AFF honors outstanding veteran-focused organizations for their dedication and service to the veteran community at the Annual Manhattans, Martinis & Mistletoe Veterans Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. The event also recognizes and celebrates military influencers, legislators, and other leaders who continue to set the standard in advancing AFF’s mission of empowering Veterans and their families. Paula Davis, Basmattie Bishundat, as well as Gold Star parents Joy and Gregory Goode and Yvonne and Garry Green volunteered as greeters at the event. A wonderful and festive time was had by all.
