On September 19, 2024, Maryland Gold Star Moms, Janice Chance, Paula Davis, Theresa Karlson, Donna Robinson, Stephanie White, Gold Star Dad, Charlton Chance, and guests Willis Bazin and Earl Ruff attended the United States Navy Memorial 2024 Lone Sailor Awards Dinner held at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Trione Vineyards & Winery sponsored a table for the Gold Star Mothers and their guests.
This annual celebration exemplifies the United States Navy Memorial’s mission to Honor, Recognize, and Celebrate the men and women of the Sea Services, past and present. This year’s honorees exemplified what service to our Nation is; service that includes support for our maritime interests and national defense with partners in Congress; service that ensures our national defense and national security remain a dominant force.
The distinguished 2024 recipients of the prestigious Lone Sailor Award were Jack O. Bovender Jr, retired Chairman and CEO of HCA Healthcare and Edward C. Byers Jr, Plank Owner and Managing Partner of the Minerva 6 Group, SEAL Veteran, US Navy. These honorees are the embodiment of the pillars of service, the Navy’s core values, and the attributes that make our Nation great.
