Mr. Chuck Ritz, Founder of the Hope and Peace Foundation invited Gold Star Maryland Chapter mothers to participate in his foundation’s 14th Annual 9/11 Path and Field of Honor event. Janice Chance and Donna Robinson represented the Maryland Chapter. This year the Path of Honor and Field of Honor flag event was held twice because Chuck Ritz hosted the Patriot Day Ride a week earlier this year. Janice and Donna assisted with the placement of flags around the Baltimore County Firehouse. They joined Chuck, Fire Fighters, Police officers, Veterans, a few elected officials and a group of other Patriots. Although it was raining lightly in the beginning, God intervened and stopped the rain. Therefore, as planned, 2,977 Flags were placed along Putty Hill Road to represent our fellow Americans who were killed during the 9/11 attacks. Flags were also placed on a hill located in the Putty Hill shopping center named “The Field of Honor” in honor of the 158 Maryland military service member Heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice since the start of the “War on Terror”. The Path and Field are visual reminders to the students who attend Parkville Senior High School, residents, business owners, and the thousands of commuters who drive on Putty Hill Ave that we have not forgotten our citizens who were killed during the 9/11/2001 attack. The Maryland Chapter moms are grateful to Chuck for providing another opportunity for them to serve, and they are also grateful to the many other Patriots for their efforts and commitment to do all that they are able to remind U.S. citizens to NEVER FORGET TO HONOR & REMEMBER our Fallen Heroes and their families. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! The saying is true “WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE”!
