The Maryland Gold Star Mothers were invited by The Severn School to attend the Rolland M. Teel Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony and Veterans Day Ceremony. The school recognized Mr. John R. Quinn class of 1987 as having demonstrated outstanding service to humanity, service to community, professional achievement and service to their alma mater. Mr. Quinn graduated from the United States Naval Academy. The students also honored the 86 alumni who served and died during the Spanish Civil War, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. The program highlights included students reciting the poem In Flanders Field, the school’s instrumental ensemble playing the Armed Forces Medley, and Annapolis High School NJROTC providing color guard duties. Theresa Karlson was honored to attend and thanked Mr. Doug Lagarde, Head of the Severn School and Carolyn Campion, Director of Alumni Relations and Alumni Giving for their invitation and including the students in remembering our Veterans and fallen Heroes.
