The Maryland Chapter reached out to Mrs. Molly Wilson, Station Manager for the American Red Cross (WRNMMC) to determine if they needed additional special items for hospitalized children of our military service members. The Maryland Chapter was blessed to be able to purchase $1,500.00 of the following items: Elmo and Cookie Monster plush toys, and two Nintendo Switch systems. Ms. Wilson shared that the Elmo & Cookie Monster stuffed toys are favorite items for the young children and the Nintendo Switch System is a favorite for the teens. Janice who is a regularly scheduled Red Cross volunteer represented the Maryland Chapter. She passes along the needs of our heroes and information about special events. Mrs. Wilson, Ms. Hanna Peters, Assistant Station Manager and Mr. Chris Duffley, Director, Service to the Armed Forces American Red Cross National Capital Region expressed their thanks for the donated gifts. Ms. Peters and Mr. Duffley offered to take a picture with Janice holding two of the plush animals. The Maryland Chapter is committed to doing all that they are able to serve and support our Heroes and their families, especially their children.
